Whether we think of issues of governance, religion, race, the environment, economic development, education, or health care, the inability to communicate, cooperate or compromise erodes social capital and weakens the ability to draw on diverse skill sets to address common challenges. Designers have a voice and a role to play in bringing divided sides together for the public good. This conference is March 23-24 on the campus of West Virginia University in Morgantown.
Speakers include Amy Piloton of Project H, Andrea Pellegrino of Design ignites Change and WorldStudio, and Bob Stains of Public Conversations. Posters will be juried by internationally renown poster artists Yossi Lemel of Tel Aviv and Chaz Maviane-Davies of Zimbabwe and MassArt, and TED speaker Jonathan Haidt.
